Full Financial Planning: A Thoughtful Roadmap for Your Financial Life

At TrueStar Financial Partners, our Financial Planning service is designed to help you build a personalized strategy tailored to your unique goals. We take an integrated approach to your financial life—incorporating everything from retirement and education funding to insurance and estate planning considerations.

For those navigating the busy years of your 30s and 40s where career, family obligations, and life in general puts your time at a premium we provide structure to help you stay on top of:

  • Retirement and Educations Savings: Setting a savings target, recommending where to save (i.e. what accounts), and what to invest in.
  • Insurance Analysis: Evaluating your insurance needs so your family has appropriate protection. We don’t sell insurance so our recommendations is based on what we think you need, not what product is best for our bottom line.
  • Estate Plan Review: Reviewing common estate planning documents and beneficiaries to help protect your family. We do not draft estate planning documents but we will recommend what we think you need and can refer you to third parties who can address any potential needs.

For those navigating the complexities of the “Retirement Red Zone,” we provide a structured framework to help you evaluate:

  • Retirement Readiness: Analyzing your timeline and target goals.
  • Income Strategy: Developing a structured approach to Social Security and retirement distributions.
  • Healthcare Coordination: Evaluating Medicare options and long-term care needs.
  • Tax-Efficiency: Identifying strategies for tax-sensitive withdrawals throughout your retirement years.

Our goal is to meet you where you are today and build a roadmap for where you want to go.

Creating your financial plan is a collaborative process that typically takes 2 to 6 months, depending on several factors. These include the complexity of your financial situation, how quickly we can gather the necessary documents (such as brokerage and retirement account statements, insurance policies, workplace benefit details, and estate planning documents), and the number of revisions we go through before arriving at a plan that you are comfortable moving forward with.

Once your plan is finalized, implementation timelines can vary widely. For some clients, it may take just a few weeks; for others, several months—especially if we’re consolidating accounts, updating insurance coverage, or coordinating with an estate attorney. Some of these steps can be handled directly by our team, while others may require collaboration with outside professionals or specific actions from you.

We also offer regular follow ups to monitor your plan and make changes and updates as needed. These check-ins allow us to go over your progress and ensure that we at TrueStar have a plan that reflects your goals.

Through it all, we’re here to provide the expert guidance you trust, the accountability you need, and the peace of mind you deserve—every step of the way.

Common Concerns—and How We Address Them

We know that starting a comprehensive financial plan can feel like a big step. Here are a few concerns we often hear—and how we help you move past them:

  • “I don’t have time for this right now.”
That’s exactly why we break the process into manageable phases, working at a pace that fits your schedule.
  • “I’m embarrassed I haven’t done more already.”
You’re not alone. We focus on helping you move forward—not on where you’ve been.
  • “I already have a financial advisor.”
That’s great. Folks come to us for a second opinion, a more holistic plan that goes beyond investment advice, or for our service which may better align with them than their current advisor.
  • “This feels overwhelming.”
We organize the process for you and guide each step clearly. You’ll never be left guessing what’s next.
  • “Is this really worth it?”
A well-crafted plan provides clarity, confidence, and direction—and helps avoid costly mistakes down the line.
  • “I don’t trust financial advisors.”
We hear that. That’s why we operate on a flat, transparent fee structure: a one-time fee for plan creation, plus an optional $2,000 annual fee for ongoing plan support (waived if you choose our investment management service). We don’t sell products and don’t earn commissions—our only incentive is to act in your best interest.

We’re here to make the planning process approachable, honest, and aligned with your goals. If any of these concerns resonate, let’s talk—this might be exactly the right time to begin.
